Robin Ellis, who starred as the original Ross Poldark in the 1970s TV series and also had a role in the recent remake, has donated the TV listings magazine signed by himself, Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson (Demelza) to help the library garden.
The magazine went up for auction on eBay today and is being sold along with a signed copy of Mr Ellis' book Making Poldark.
Mr Ellis donated the items for auction after he commented on a post online made by one of the community library's volunteers.
He took an interest in the library and the events and activities it supports and then offered to help by donating the rare signed items.
Mr Ellis and his wife have worked with one of the library's volunteers to set up the auction which goes live today and finishes on Sunday.
All proceeds from the sale will go towards the library's community garden and the activities which are held there.
Mr Ellis said: "I enjoy reading, and if it weren't for Winston Graham's books, there would never have been two wonderful Poldark series. Authors need writers and writers need readers. It's a pleasure to support Truro Community Library."
